About this service
Care that starts with listening
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring records your blood pressure at intervals over a longer period, including while you follow your normal routine. This can provide a fuller picture than a single reading in the pharmacy.
We fit a comfortable cuff connected to a compact monitor and explain how to wear it. The monitor automatically takes readings during the agreed period. You then return it to the pharmacy so the results can be reviewed and shared through the appropriate NHS pathway.
The service is free for eligible NHS patients. We will explain how to prepare, what to record and what to do if you have any concerns while wearing the monitor.
